UCAPO Mission Statement

1. To coordinate communications among various Chinese American professional organizations and provide professional services to members; develop career opportunities for each member to reach his or her highest potential in their respective fields.
2. To promote understanding and cooperation between China and the U.S.
3. To build up mutual understanding and cooperation between Chinese American and other minority groups.

Since UCAPO was founded, the Council has worked to establish affiliations in various fields between China and the U.S. by organizing activities and events. As a bridge, UCAPO boasts broad cooperation between China and the U.S. in science and technology, business, culture and the arts. Since 1998, UCAPO members have organized nearly 100 technological and trading delegations to visit China and participated hi-tech fairs and professional forums and workshops. The gradual development of the Chinese economy provides opportunities for our members to develop new careers in China. There have been more than 300 UCAPO members that have returned to China to lead very successful careers. In addition, UCAPO organizes forums and seminars in Washington to introduce and discuss issues related to China and the overall U.S.-China relationship. UCAPO has played a major role in the annual ‘Chinese Cultural Festival’ in Washington, D.C.
